Stick Together

Welcome everyone! Today we’ll explore why staying with staff keeps us safe and practice ways to make good choices when we feel stressed. Feel free to greet students and build excitement.

Lesson Objectives & Agenda

Read aloud the objectives and walk students through the agenda. Emphasize we’ll discuss, role-play, and reflect—all in 30 minutes.

Why Staying with Staff Matters

Explain that staff are trained to help, know the environment, and can get additional support quickly. Ask for an example of a time someone helped them.

Decision-Making Strategies

Point to the Decision-Making Strategies Poster. Model each step quickly with a hypothetical scenario—like feeling overwhelmed when called to the office.

Group Discussion

Hand out Discussion Prompt Cards and sticky notes. Circulate while pairs talk—ask guiding questions if they stall.

Role-Play Activity

Divide into small groups and give each the Role-Play Scenario Pack. Encourage students to use the strategies on the poster as they act out their scenario.

Reflection & Wrap-Up

Distribute reflection worksheets. Invite volunteers to read their strategy aloud. Reinforce how these steps help in real moments of stress.

You’re Not Alone

Conclude with encouragement. Remind students staff care about their safety and are here to help every day.
