Study Superpowers

Welcome everyone! Introduce today’s goal: discovering your study superpowers—organization, time management, and memory tricks. Encourage students to get excited and participate.

What Are Study Superpowers?

Ask: “What do you think study superpowers could be?” List responses on the board to build engagement.

Why Plan Your Homework?

Discuss why planning helps reduce stress. Invite a few volunteers to share experiences of forgetting homework or rushing at the last minute.

Organizational Hack: Weekly Planner

Display the planner on screen. Model filling in Monday’s assignments and color-coding by subject.

Time-Blocking Your Tasks

Explain time-blocking: 20 minutes of focused work, 5-minute break. Set a 2-minute timer for brainstorming tasks.

Memory Strategy: Acronym Mnemonics

Introduce acronym mnemonics. Write HOMES on board and list Great Lakes to illustrate.

Practice with Flashcards

Hand out flashcard templates. Guide students to write their own lists and acronyms, then pair up to quiz each other for 2 minutes.

Wrap-Up & Reflection

Invite volunteers to share their favorite tip. Emphasize daily practice to turn tips into habits.
