Sunshine Feelings

Welcome everyone! Today’s session is called “Sunshine Feelings.” We’ll use beach imagery and a fun beach ball to explore summer emotions. Keep the energy bright and encourage each child to share.

Objectives

Explain each objective clearly. You can point to the Emotion Word Bank Poster as you talk about emotion vocabulary.

Materials

Show the real beach ball and point out the poster. Make sure all materials are within easy reach.

Warm-Up Check-In (3 min)

Gather children in a circle. Hold the ball and model passing it. Emphasize naming the feeling and giving one word explanation.

Beach Ball Sharing (7 min)

Encourage connection—prompt peers to ask follow-up questions, and refer to the prompt cards if a student needs extra support.

Sandcastle Reflection Cool-Down (5 min)

Distribute the worksheets and markers. Walk around to support as students draw and circle words on the poster.

Great Job!

Congratulate the group for their openness. Invite them to place their drawings on a classroom display wall to celebrate emotions.
