Lesson Plan

Taming the Volcano Lesson Plan

Students will identify personal anger triggers, use an emotion thermometer to track rising anger, and practice at least two self-calming strategies with peer support to manage outbursts.

Unmanaged anger can disrupt learning and social connections. This small-group Tier 2 lesson equips 3rd graders with self-regulation tools and peer-support skills, fostering better emotional health and classroom behavior.
