Team Responsibility Quest

Students will identify and fulfill personal responsibilities within a team by assigning roles, collaborating on a group challenge, and reflecting on accountability and cooperation.

This lesson builds social-emotional skills by helping students understand the importance of individual roles in group success, fostering classroom community and preparing them for collaborative tasks.

Welcome students and introduce today’s lesson: Team Responsibility Quest. Display the title and set expectations for an engaging, cooperative session.

Learning Objective

Read the objective aloud and connect it to the importance of working well in a team both in and out of school.

Warm-Up: What Is Responsibility?

Gather students in a circle. Ask: “What does responsibility mean?” and record responses on chart paper under “Responsibility.” Emphasize how every role matters in team success.

Team Roles & Responsibilities

Introduce the four roles using the [Responsibility Role Cards](#responsibility-role-cards). Explain each role’s task during the tower-building challenge.

Cooperative Activity: Build a Tower

Explain how teams will be formed, roles assigned, and the tower challenge rules. Circulate to support and note teamwork skills.

Timer: 3 Minutes

Start the timer now. Remind students of the 3-minute limit and encourage them to fulfill their roles.

Assessment & Reflection

Hand out the [Responsibility Reflection Sheet](#responsibility-reflection-sheet). Guide students as they complete their reflection. Collect sheets afterward.

Conclusion & Celebration

Summarize key takeaways: how responsibility and teamwork helped achieve the goal. Ask a few volunteers to share what they learned. Praise successful collaboration.
