Understanding Emotional Eruptions

Introduce the concept by comparing emotions to a volcano. Explain that just like a volcano, emotions can build up until they erupt. Ask the students if they've ever felt like they were 'about to erupt' with emotion and discuss why that might happen.

What Makes the Volcano Heat Up?

Discuss the idea of triggers. Ask students what kinds of events or situations might cause a volcano (emotion) to start heating up. Use bright images and simple language.

Cooling Down the Volcano

Transition to coping strategies. Provide examples and encourage students to think of ways to calm their own 'volcano'.

Your Personal Volcano

Wrap up by reinforcing that everyone feels emotions and that it's important to find healthy ways to express them. Prompt a reflective question.
