Introduce the video: “Empathy in Action.” Play the 1- to 2-minute clip. After, ask: “What did you notice about the listener’s response?”

Explain the icebreaker: each student names one emotion they felt today and its trigger. Model with your own example first.

Describe the small-group setup and distribute Emotion Cards. Circulate to prompt deeper thinking.

Hand out scenarios and assign roles. Encourage listeners to use eye contact, paraphrasing, and validation.

Project the journal template. Give students quiet time to write. Invite volunteers to share aloud afterward.

Thank students for their participation. Remind them to look for empathy moments all week and share any stories next class.
