The Power of a Pause

Introduce the concept of the session. Emphasize the importance of pausing during conflict and the role of mindfulness. Use a warm, inviting tone to set the atmosphere.

Why Pause?

Explain why pausing is essential in conflict situations. Discuss how reaction versus response can change the outcome of an interaction.

Deep Breaths

Introduce the first breathing technique. Encourage the student to take a deep breath.

Counting Breaths

Introduce a counting approach that can help regulate the breath. Demonstrate a few cycles.

Guided Mindfulness Activity

Guide the student into a short mindfulness exercise. Encourage them to close their eyes and follow the breathing instructions.

Reflection & Wrap-Up

Wrap up the session by inviting reflection. Ask the student to share what they felt and learned.
