The Treasure of Good Deeds

Welcome students! Today we're starting an exciting journey called the “Treasure of Good Deeds.” Explain that when we practice kindness and positive behaviors, we’ll reveal pieces of a secret treasure map. Encourage them to listen closely and get ready to earn map pieces!

Why Good Deeds Matter

Emphasize why kindness and positive behavior matter in our classroom community. Connect good deeds to a happier, safer space where everyone can learn and grow.

How the Deed-to-Treasure System Works

Introduce the Deed-to-Treasure system: every time someone does a good deed, they earn a map piece. Keep track on the whiteboard and share examples.

Positive Behaviors to Practice

Go through each behavior example slowly, asking students to share other ideas. Make sure everyone understands what counts as a good deed.

Our Blank Treasure Map

Show the blank treasure map on the board or wall. Explain that each piece fits into a location and together the map will reveal the X that marks the spot!

Earning Map Pieces

Demonstrate how to pick a map piece and attach it. Reinforce that each piece earned is a class victory, not just an individual one.

Placing Your Map Piece

Explain the placement process step by step, and assign a few students as “Map Keepers” to help track and attach pieces throughout the lesson.

Ready to Begin the Adventure?

Motivate students to start looking for opportunities to do good deeds right away. Let them know you’ll be watching and ready to award pieces.
