Unlock Your Brain

Welcome students! Today we’ll explore the brain’s structure, learn how it helps us learn, and discover simple habits to boost focus. Point out the lesson objective: identify major brain regions and share brain-health tips.

What Is the Brain?

Ask: “What comes to mind when you hear ‘brain’?” Define the brain as our body’s control center for thoughts, feelings, and actions.

Major Brain Regions

Introduce the three key regions. Show the [Brain Model Diagram](#brain-model-diagram).

The Cerebrum

Display a graphic of the cerebrum or point to it on the model. Emphasize its role in memory and reasoning.

The Cerebellum

Show the cerebellum on your diagram. Ask: “What happens when we tumble without it?”

The Brainstem

Point to the brainstem on the model. Highlight the automatic functions it handles.

How the Brain Learns

Explain how neurons form connections to store and retrieve information. Use an analogy: “Like roads linking cities”

Brain Boost Strategy: Hydration

Discuss why water is crucial. Encourage students to share how much water they drink daily.

Strategy: Sleep & Breaks

Highlight the power of sleep and breaks. Invite students to suggest favorite break activities.

Wrap-Up & Reflection

Prompt students to complete the exit ticket: name one brain part with its function or one strategy to boost focus. Collect responses.
