Slide Deck

Failure as a Learning Tool

Introduce the slide deck with enthusiasm. Explain to the class that it's okay to make mistakes and that every mistake can help us learn something new.

What is Failure?

Discuss with the students what the word 'failure' means in simple terms. Encourage them to share any age-appropriate examples of when something didn't work out and how they learned from that experience.

Learning from Mistakes

Share a simple example that is relatable. For instance, talk about a time when a common daily activity (like learning to ride a bike) didn't go well the first time but improved with practice.

Famous Failures and Successes

Display images or short stories of famous personalities (like Thomas Edison with his lightbulb, a cartoon character, etc.) to visualize the idea that even famous people experience failures before success.

Share Your Story

Engage students by asking them to think of a time when they made a mistake and learned something. Help them share ideas in a supportive and encouraging way.

What Did We Learn?

Wrap up with a positive note reinforcing that making mistakes is part of learning. Encourage the students to always try again no matter what.
