Power Move Warm-Up Outline

Students will engage in dynamic warm-up activities that energize their bodies and minds by practicing exercises from different fitness “power stations,” preparing them for the main physical fitness lesson.

Dynamic movements increase blood flow, flexibility, and focus, helping students transition into physical activity safely. Exploring “power stations” teaches them how varied exercises benefit different aspects of fitness.

Slide Deck

Your Body’s Power Stations

Welcome students! Today we’ll learn about three “power stations” in our body that help us get ready for fitness activities. Introduce the slide deck and remind them to think about how each station powers up their bodies.

Cardio Station

Explain that cardio gets our heart pumping and blood flowing so we have energy and endurance. You can demonstrate a few quick jumping jacks to show proper form.

Strength Station

Discuss how strength moves build muscle and stabilize joints. Model a lunge, pointing out knee alignment and posture.

Flexibility Station

Highlight that flexibility keeps us limber and reduces injury risk. Show slow, controlled arm circles.

Which Station Energized You Most?

Use this slide to prompt student reflection. Encourage a few volunteers to share which station they think will energize them most and why.
