Discover Your Stress Style

Welcome students and introduce today’s topic: stress and how we each respond differently. Explain that by learning our stress style, we can use the best coping tools.

What Is Stress?

Define stress in kid-friendly terms and give relatable examples (tests, busy mornings, disagreements with friends). Engage students by asking for quick examples.

Stress Style: Thinker

Explain the Thinker style: people who overthink problems. Use the thermometer example: thinking through every detail can feel like your mind is overheating.

Stress Style: Feeler

Describe the Feeler style: people who experience strong emotions. Encourage students to share a time they cried or felt very upset when stressed.

Stress Style: Doer

Introduce the Doer style: people who want to move and take action when stressed. Invite a quick stretch or shaking out of arms to illustrate.

What’s Your Stress Style?

Explain next steps: distributing the quiz. Remind students to answer honestly so they find the right style for them.
