Lesson Plan

Superpower Discovery

Students will identify and celebrate their personal strengths (“superpowers”) and develop strategies to use them for positive classroom behavior.

Recognizing and sharing individual strengths boosts self-esteem, fosters a supportive class community, and encourages pro-social behaviors.

Slide Deck

Unleash Your Strength

Welcome students! Today we’re going to talk about our personal superpowers—special strengths that make each of us unique. Use this slide to set a positive tone and get everyone excited.

What Is a Superpower?

Explain that a superpower is like a strength we all have inside. Read each example and pause to let students call out what strengths they recognize in themselves or others.

Why Use Your Superpower?

Emphasize why using our superpowers matters. Connect to classroom behavior: how these strengths help us work together and make our class a great place.

Superpower Brainstorm

Guide students through the brainstorming activity. Show a picture of sticky notes on a wall if possible. Remind them to write both their superpower and one way they can use it today at school.

Power Posters Activity

Explain the group poster activity and refer them to the [Power Posters Templates](#power-posters). Encourage creativity and show a sample poster if available.

Strengths Sharing Circle

Set up the sharing circle. Remind students to use their prompt cards ( [Strengths Sharing Circle Prompt Cards](#strengths-sharing-circle) ) to guide them and to listen respectfully to classmates.

Daily Power Pledge

Prepare for the cool-down and distribute the pledge printables. Remind students to write a clear promise and invite volunteers to share. Finish by telling students you’ll display their pledges.
