The Power of Words

This slide deck aims to visually and interactively present the concept of self-talk. Use bright, engaging colors and simple language. Emphasize examples of both positive and negative self-talk, making sure to ask the students questions like 'What do you think this person is saying to themselves?'. This can help in reinforcing the idea of choosing kind words.

Positive Self-Talk

Introduce examples of positive self-talk. Use images or icons of happy faces, sun, hearts to symbolize the positivity. Prompt students to share kinds words they might say to themselves.

Negative Self-Talk

Show what negative self-talk looks like with simple language, but be careful to keep language age appropriate. Encourage the class to see the difference between negative words and positive words.

Why Kind Words Matter

Summarize the importance of choosing kind words for ourselves and others. Reiterate the message with a simple question to encourage participation.
