Lesson Plan

Winter Adventures: Walking in Their Shoes

Expand empathy through storytelling

In this lesson, students will work in groups to write short narratives from the perspective of another being experiencing winter. This activity encourages empathy and imaginative skills by having students consider the thoughts and feelings of others, whether it's an animal adapting to winter or a new student experiencing snow for the first time. By engaging in this creative exercise, students will enhance their ability to understand and share the feelings of others, a crucial skill for social development. Additionally, students will create an art project to visually represent their narratives, further deepening their connection to the characters they create.
