In this Tier 2 small-group lesson, 5th graders embark on imaginative journeys through characters’ perspectives, collecting ‘empathy stamps’ and reflecting on their decisions. Over 55-minute sessions, students will hone social-emotional skills and deepen character analysis by exploring diverse worlds—fostering empathy, critical reading, and collaborative reflection.

In this 15-minute morning meeting lesson, fourth graders will explore what makes a great friend by investigating key friendship traits through interactive activities. This Tier 1 lesson builds a positive classroom community and equips students with social skills they can use every day.
