Peer Pressure & Vaping: A Personal Map

Begin by welcoming the student and explaining that mapping peer pressure helps them see where and how vaping offers might happen. Keep tone supportive and curious.

Why Create a Pressure Map?

Explain why visualizing peer pressure triggers builds insight. Encourage the student to think of real examples.

Step 1: Identify Your Peers

Guide the student to list specific friends or peers. Ask follow-up questions: How close are you? Do they vape already?

Step 2: Pinpoint Settings

Discuss common settings for offers. Prompt student to recall places they spend time. Ask for details about each location’s vibe.

Step 3: Note Your Feelings

Help the student explore feelings like curiosity, wanting to fit in, or fear of missing out. Remind them that these are normal but can be managed.

Step 4: Build Your Personal Map

Provide a blank map template (paper or digital). Let the student draw a circle for themselves in the center, then connect peers, settings, and emotions around it. Offer encouragement as they work.
