Slide Deck
Session 1: Introduction & Awareness
Introduce the idea of a social filter. Explain with visuals (thought bubbles vs. speech bubbles) what that means. Use simple language and examples, ask the student to point out the difference between thoughts and spoken words. Engage them in a small discussion to gauge understanding.
Session 2: Practice & Skill Building
Review what was learned in Session 1 briefly. Use role-play to allow the student to practice the social filter in controlled scenarios. Introduce a checklist to help the student decide if they should speak immediately or pause. Encourage lots of praise and constructive feedback.
Session 3: Application & Reflection
Recap all sessions emphasizing the result of using the social filter. Engage the student in a more dynamic role-playing game and ask reflective questions. Finally, discuss strategies for remembering to pause and think during daily social interactions.
