Teenagers often experience heightened stress; providing structured mindfulness exercises builds self-regulation, reduces anxiety, and enhances concentration—skills that support both academic performance and emotional well-being.

What Is Mindfulness?

Explain mindfulness in your own words, then transition to the grounding exercise.

Grounding Exercise

Lead students through a brief grounding. Invite them to notice contact points and breath.

4-4-6 Breathing Pattern

Demonstrate the 4-4-6 pattern by counting aloud. Use the timer for consistency.

Circle Sharing Guidelines

Cover the circle guidelines before moving chairs into a circle formation.

Reflection Prompt

Introduce the journal prompt. Encourage honesty and reassure privacy.
