Reflection Routine Guide

Guide a 7th grader through a consistent 10-minute daily wrap-up routine that checks in on feelings, reflects on successes and challenges, and creates an actionable plan for the next day.

Structured daily reflection fosters self-awareness, promotes goal-setting, and strengthens self-management skills by helping students track progress and plan proactively.

Greet the student warmly and explain that this is a quick daily check-in to capture their current mood and any immediate thoughts. Emphasize that it’s a safe, judgment-free space.

How Are You Feeling?

Ask the student to choose an emoji or color that reflects their mood and, if they’re comfortable, share why they picked it. Record their choice.
