Slide Deck

Resilience Builders: Overcoming Challenges

Welcome students and introduce the session. Emphasize that resilience is a skill we can build. Mention today’s flow: definitions, discussion, activity, reflection, and commitment.

Learning Objectives

Read each objective aloud. Invite students to think about what success in today’s lesson will look like for them.

What Is Resilience?

Explain that resilience means bouncing back. Use a visual of a sprouting plant or bouncing ball to illustrate recovery after stress.

Hook Activity: Share Your Challenge

Distribute sticky notes. Ask students to write a brief description of a challenge they’ve faced (academic or personal) and post it on the chart paper.

Guided Discussion Prompts

Divide students into small groups. Hand out the discussion prompts. Encourage each student to speak and listen actively.

Hands-On Activity: Overcoming Challenges

Explain the worksheet sections. Circulate as students work in pairs or individually. Offer support in brainstorming strategies.

Reflection & Debrief

Invite volunteers to share key insights or parts of their action plans. Highlight common effective strategies such as reframing and seeking support.

Your Commitment

Ask students to write one commitment on a new sticky note and post it on the ‘Resilience Wall.’ Encourage them to revisit this wall throughout the week.
