Taming the Worry Monster

Introduce the lesson by explaining the concept of a "Worry Monster." Emphasize that everybody has worries sometimes and that today we will learn fun ways to tame the monster.

What is Anxiety?

Explain what anxiety means in simple terms: feeling nervous or scared. Use relatable examples and ask the student if they've ever felt like that.

How Does Anxiety Feel?

Discuss common signs of worry. Use simple language and visual cues (depicting a worried face, rapid heartbeat, etc.) to help the student identify them.

Coping Strategies

Introduce simple coping strategies. Emphasize deep breathing and positive self-talk. Engage the student by doing a deep breathing exercise together.

Worry Monster Busters!

Present a fun, interactive game: 'Worry Monster Busters.' Explain the rules simply and encourage the student to participate actively to practice the strategies.
