Lesson Plan

Kindness Quest Lesson Plan

Students will learn the meaning of kindness, perform and document a simple act of kindness, then reflect and share their experiences to build empathy and prosocial skills.

Early practice of kindness fosters empathy, social skills, and a caring classroom community. This lesson makes abstract values concrete through action and storytelling.

Slide Deck

The Kindness Quest

Welcome students with excitement. Introduce the slide as the start of our Kindness Quest. Point out the warm, friendly colors.

What is Kindness?

Ask: “What does kindness mean?” Show picture examples (sharing, helping). Record answers on chart paper. Use simple language.

Kindness Story

Read the short story about Lily. Pause and ask: “How did her friend feel?” “Why did that small act matter?”

Your Kindness Quest

Explain the quest steps: draw a card, perform the act, then draw and label your own picture. Model by pulling a sample card.

Share & Reflect

Invite volunteers to share their drawings and cards. Ask: “How did it feel to be kind?” Add each act to the class chart.
